Matthew Parker

Matthew is the youngest member of the band. In fact he is so young that he doesn't ever remember there not being a Bursledon Village Band. He started playing Piano when he was four and joined the band as a stand in member when he was about 13. He was playing with us at Sidmouth when he was 14. For the last few years he has been studying Accoustics and Vibration at Southampton University. He got his degree this year and now actually works for the University and gets paid, which was as much a surprise to him as it was to us !!

Most of the arrangements for the back line of the band come from Matt's ideas and despite the fact that he's still the "Nipper" and takes a lot of teasing we do actually quite like him !!.
